Terms of Use & Advisory Scope
Effective Date: October 2026
1. Nature of Advisory Services
Behind the Wheel provides independent automotive consulting, specification research, market intelligence, third-party inspection coordination, and client advocacy services. Information presented on this website is for general informational purposes and does not constitute a binding offer, mechanical warranty, financial or investment advice, or formal representation agreement.
2. Consultation Inquiries & Engagement Formation
Submitting an inquiry through our website or contacting our desk by email or telephone initiates a preliminary review of your objectives. A consultation is not booked, nor is an advisory relationship formed, until confirmed in writing by Behind the Wheel. Formal representation is governed exclusively by a separate written engagement agreement defining the specific mandate, fee structure, and deliverables.
3. Scope & Limitations of Due Diligence
While Behind the Wheel coordinates pre-purchase inspections (PPI), provenance reviews, and transport logistics with independent marque specialists and insured carriers, Behind the Wheel does not manufacture, warrant, or physically certify the mechanical, structural, or cosmetic condition of any vehicle. All third-party technicians, laboratories, and transport carriers operate as independent contractors, and automobiles are ultimately acquired subject to the purchase contract executed between the buyer and seller.
4. No Guarantees of Pricing, Availability, or Appreciation
The collector, performance, and luxury automotive markets are dynamic. Behind the Wheel makes no representations or guarantees regarding:
- Specific purchase price reductions or negotiated savings below asking prices.
- Availability of privately held or off-market vehicles.
- Future mechanical reliability, restoration costs, or financial market appreciation of any acquired automobile.
5. Regulatory & Transaction Execution
Behind the Wheel acts as a consulting advocate for the client. Where applicable state, federal, or international regulations require licensed motor vehicle dealer intermediation, customs brokerage, or legal escrow execution, such regulated functions are performed through appropriately licensed counterparties.
